Rural properties in Wheatland County often fall outside the service range of standard cleaning and restoration companies. Distance, access issues, pests, and severe buildup discourage many providers from responding. This case study documents how Filthy Masters, led by local owner Chris Rozenberg of Rosebud, completed a full rural property restoration where others declined.
Filthy Masters was first contacted through a trusted referral connected to the Suck It Up regarding a vent cleaning contaminated by a pet. That initial biohazard-related cleaning was completed successfully and left such a strong impression that the client referred Filthy Masters to a second property: a remote farmhouse owned by her father and brother.
The rural home was located between Strathmore and Gleichen, deep within Wheatland County, an area where few restoration companies were willing to travel.
Upon entry, the property showed clear signs of long-term neglect:
In addition, multiple weapons were found throughout the home, as the occupant was a hunter. All weapons were safely secured as part of standard safety and biohazard cleanup protocols. Kyle Ryan Moras and Christopher Rozenberg are former Canadian Forces Infantry.
The basement presented another challenge: a large infestation of boxelder beetles, both living and dead, scattered across floors and belongings.
Following a full inspection and estimate, approval for immediate cleaning and restoration was granted.
As with any large-scale decluttering service or property restoration, Filthy Masters began by establishing a clean staging area. The basement was cleared first:
An ozone generator was deployed overnight to assist with odour removal, pest reduction, and air decontamination.
Clothing scattered throughout the house was gathered and placed neatly on clean mats within the restored basement area.
Day one focused on intensive cleaning across the entire home:
When the team returned the following day, the ozone treatment had been highly effective. A significant number of remaining boxelder beetles had been eliminated, allowing work to continue without obstruction.
On day two, Kyle Moras focused on further kitchen restoration, while Chris Rozenberg addressed the severely damaged master bathroom.
Even with Filthy Masters’ strongest professional cleaning solutions, the rust and limescale damage in the shower could not be reversed through cleaning alone. At that point, the project moved from cleaning into restoration.
An epoxy refinishing system was applied to the shower. Due to the extent of the damage, multiple cans and coats were required. After the rest of the house was fully cleaned—including carpets, upholstery, and windows—Chris Rozenberg returned to complete the epoxy application.
The final result was a fully restored, clean, and functional shower.
Once the rural property restoration was complete, the client’s father expressed deep satisfaction with the transformation. The home, which had been a growing burden, was reset to a livable and dignified condition.
The client’s sister later provided a glowing testimonial, praising Filthy Masters for:
